Wolves striker Kevin Doyle has revealed that he wouldn’t consider a move back to former club Reading.

The 28-year old forward is currently with relegated Wolves but has been linked with a move back to the Premier League. Many reports have suggested that Brian McDermott could be tempted to move for player he originally brought to the club back in 2004, with papers suggesting the figure could be around £4 million.

Doyle told Sky Sports: .‘I don’t think, personally, you should ever go back. Everyone says it’s never the same. My four years was brilliant and I wouldn’t like to ruin that. Not that I’ve had the option, by the way. I’ve not spoken to Brian, just to wish him all the best. They’ve had brilliant success the last two years and they’ve come up this year. They’ve got enough strikers and players.’

The former Cork City striker signed for around £80,000 and went onto become one of the best strikers in the clubs history. He scored 13 goals in his and Reading’s first Premier League season but had a disappointing following season, with injury hampering his progress. The Republic of Ireland international then moved onto Wolves for a £6.5 million fee.
