If the signing of a new deal wasn`t enough for some, Kevin Doyle has come out and said he does not intend to leave Reading.

Kevin Doyle signed a contract with Reading that keeps him tied to the club until 2010, but despite his pledge of allegiance Doyle has been numerously linked with moves out of the Royal County and on to another club.

But Doyle remains unphased by suggestions that he is on the move and speaking to the Reading Evening Post, he set out to put others minds to rest:

“I am very happy at Reading, so what is the point of going anywhere else? This is the place to be.”

Doyle is Reading`s top goalscorer netting 10 times so far this season, with the promise of plenty more to come. It is his goalscoring reputation that has alerted other clubs to his presence, and made his name one of the buzzwords around this transfer window.

But Doyle is adamant that he is uninterested in a move, insisting his future is in Reading:

‘There is no need to go anywhere. I don’t want to unsettle myself by moving. That can upset your game.

‘Hopefully the best years are ahead of me and I am developing all the time.

‘There is still plenty to learn, but I have the right manager to teach me and hopefully I can do even better.

‘We have a great manager, a great chairman, great players, a stadium that can get bigger, a good training ground and a great town.’
