While all the current talk may be surrounding players leaving the club, defender Michael Duberry is one player who will definitely still be at Reading in August.
Duberry, whose current deal has come to an end, has signed a one-year contract extension at the Madejski Stadium.
The former England defender joined the Royals from Stoke in January 2007 and his Championship experience will be a great asset to the recently relegated Royals.
Doobs made just 13 Premier League appearances last season due to various injuries, but the former Chelsea man is determined to help take the Royals back into the top flight at the first time of asking.
He said, ‘I’m very happy to stay and it’s nice to know that the manager has got the confidence in me to give me another year.
‘Hopefully I will be able to reward him by helping to take the team back up.
‘I’ve played in the Championship before and I know what it takes to be successful at that level.’
The news will come as a relief to Reading boss Steve Coppell following the reports that fellow centre-back Ibrahima Sonko is destined to leave the club

That’s good to see, loyalty to a club in times of trouble.
Times of trouble, yeah right mate, I’ll agree that it’s times of trouble if we finish below Ipswich this season.
Happy [ Grateful ] to sign, probably no other interest.
