Despite putting in a good shift for the past few years, Ian Harte has announced he will be leaving Reading in the summer.

The 35-year old confirmed via his Twitter account that he will be leaving the Madejski Stadium at the end of the season, after his current contract is set to run out this summer. Harte has played 95 times in a Reading shirt and appeared on 14 occasions this campaign.

Obviously the rumour of him joining Brian McDermott at Leeds will do the rounds, but Harte said that is unlikely to happen, because of the current crop of left-backs they have at the moment. Either way, Hartey did confirm he wouldn’t be hanging up his boots just yet.

He has had some great moments at this club and is likely to make a cameo appearance against West Ham this weekend, in what will be his last game in a Royals shirt. Harte has given us some great memories, with his free kicks against Forest and Middlesbrough high on the list.

We wish you the best of luck Hartey!
