Reading defender Sean Morrison has signed a new four-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2016.

The Plymouth-born player has been awarded this new deal at the Madejski Stadium, after a very successful spell with Huddersfield last season, where he helped the Terriers to Championship promotion. Despite only making two appearances since signing from Swindon in January 2011, Morrison is certainly a good prospect for the future.

Morrison, who stands at 6’4, was linked with a move back to Huddersfield in the transfer window, but was keen to win a place in Brian McDermott’s side. His previous appearance for Reading was in last week’s 3-2 Capital One Cup victory over QPR, where he came on for Adrian Mariappa and made a superb block to deny Djbril Cisse in injury time.
