With the Premier League spending over £200million in January, its not surprising that our moves on transfer deadline day were somewhat over shaddowed! After signing Mathieu Manset, Sean Morrison and Brett Williams earlier in the window, we completed the deals to bring two youngsters to the Madejski Stadium.

Canada under 20 captain Ethan Gage has joined after leaving Vancouver Whitecaps in his homeland, and he can play in midfield or defence.

He is joined by American Erik Opshal, a midfielder, and is will be eligible to play for the clubs under 18’s for the remainder of this season.

Both signed deals until the end of the season, with the option of an extra year if succesful.

There were also 3 loan moves with youngsters moving to gain valuable first team experience. Jacob Mills has joined Dutch club Telstar on loan until the end of the season, joining up with Jacob Walcott in Holland.

Nicholas Bignall has signed for Brentford until the end of the season on loan, and he will join up with former Royal Nicky Forster at Griffin Park.

Finally Michael Hector will move to Ireland on loan with Dundalk until the end of their season in the Irish Premier League.
