Davies has been told by Brian McDermott that he could be surplus to requirements at the Madejski Stadium, and has been left at home as the first team squad travelled to Slovenia. He has been linked with moves to both Aldershot and Wycombe, where he has enjoyed good loan spells but the Chairboys look to be in the driving seat for his signature.

The attacking midfielder was in the stands as Wycombe beat Chesham Utd 3-0 on Tuesday night, sparking rumours he is about to sign for the club. The travelling fans chanted ‘sign him up’ when he was spotted at the game.

Gary Waddock is a big fan of the player having signed him at Aldershot, and last season at Wycombe where he scored 3 goals in 15 appearances. He will be desperate to link up with him again and have the Irish under 21 international spearhead their league two promotion push.

  • South Bank says:

Surely there is a league one team interested in him? He is a better player than that, but I suppose he can remain local with a move to Adams Park and he knows Waddock well.
