Darren Carter? Please no!

It’s crazy season for transfer rumours as the papers look to fill pages with endless ‘exclusives’ of who could be moving where before he start of the new season. So I am hoping that the latest player to be linked with a move to the Madejski Stadium, is one of those that never comes off.

Preston midfielder Darren Carter is linked with a move to either us or QPR, after being made available for transfer by Deepdale manager Darren Ferguson.

Since scoring the winning play off final penalty for boy hood club Birmingham in 2002, Carter has become a journeyman playing for West Brom and Sunderland (loan) as well as the Lillywhites. He was in the side that was hammered by the Royals on the final day of the season and is clearly a very average footballer!

With the large number of midfielders already at the club, and talk of shipping a few of them out, Carter is the last player we need to be thinking about buying so lets hope the pull of QPR’s financial clout ensures he goes to Loftus Road!
