After a positive performance, if not result, against Leicester the Royals head to the Midlands to face Coventry. A full match preview is here….
There were a lot of positives from Monday, we created a number of chances, good chances, but just didn’t manage to convert them.
Irish striker Leon Best will return for Coventry after missing last weekends draw with West Brom. However keeper Kieron Westwood remains a doubt with Dimi Konstantopoulos standing by to deputise.
Best is an international team mate of Shane Long, Darren O’Dea and Noel Hunt and will be keen to impress with the Irish World Cup qualifying play off against France coming up next month.
The Royals will have to do without Noel Hunt for the rest of this season after he had surgery on a knee injury. Chris Armstrong though is close to a first team return though from his knee injury.
Ivar Ingimarsson returns from suspension and he will be needed as Darren O’Dea and Matt Mills are struggling with injury.
Had a number of chances on Monday against Leicester but just couldn’t find the back of the net. However he had to be in those positions to miss the chances and surely he is due some luck in front of goal?
A dull 0-0 at the Ricoh back in April was the last time these sides met – you would be forgiven for forgetting it!
Coventry have only won 2 of their home games this season, ok thats 2 better than us but still, and the Royals have taken 7 of their 10 points away from home.
If ever there was a time to get a result, this is it – Coventry 0-1 Royals.
