Reading were outplayed for large portions of Saturday’s match against West Ham, eventually losing 3-0. Steve Coppell didn’t enjoy it at all, and admits it could have been worse, with Reading getting what the deserved.

“It was massively disappointing,” Coppell told Reading World.

“For the first time in a long while I didn’t enjoy watching us play.

“It was painful watching elements of the second half.

“We’ve had many good times here, but if you look at us today we were like strangers on occasions.

“In the second half they broke so often, we were gung ho, naive.

“We got what we deserved and in the end 3-0 flattered us.”

He had no excuses for how Reading played, but could not hide his disappointment.

Now he is hoping to regroup his troops during ahead on the big game with Sunderland next time out to halt a run of back-to-back 3-0 defeats. This match comes after the International break.

I think Coppell has summed things up pretty well, he will be looking for a reaction against Sunderland and I’m sure Reading will give him the response he will demand.
