Following the awful defeat at home to Fulham on Saturday, Steve Coppell has vowed to make changes as the Royals face fellow strugglers Arsenal.
A few weeks back, following a run of eight successive defeats, Coppell vowed to mix things up, and true to his word he did, making a whopping three changes.
This time around, the Royals boss has suggested he would be justified in making as many as ten changes to his side.
He said ‘After that performance I think only Marcus came out with any credit.
‘I could legitimately make 10 changes for the game with Arsenal.
‘If I did then I don’t think anyone could come to me and say ‘why have you left me out?’
‘I can do whatever I like after Saturday. There will be a few changes, definitely. I am not 100 per cent certain how many yet, but I have an idea of the shape and the team I will play against Arsenal.’
After a week to sleep on it, I firmly believe Steve Coppell will make as many as one change. Probably Kalifa Cisse coming in for Shane Long to form a five man midfield that will systematically be torn apart by Arsenal’s slick passing. But then again I’ve been wrong before (see my prediction for Reading vs Fulham, whoops…).
