Reading manager Steve Coppell, speaking after the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at the Madejski Stadium, says he was happy with his team despite the final result. Reading had held the league leaders up until 13 minutes from the end when Wayne Rooney’s deft flick broke the deadlock and Cristiano Ronaldo’s quick break away and finish secured the win.
Dave Kitson and James Harper both had chances for the home side to earn a point but despite their failure to do so, Coppell says the side definitely played their part in the match.
