Coppell Bites The Bullet

Reading Striker Leroy Lita has returned from his loan spell with Charlton to boost the Royals survival hopes.

Steve Coppell finally bit the bullet on Saturday evening to recall the England Under 21 striker from Charlton after they failed in their bid for the Championship play off’s.

Lita has scored three goals for Charlton during his loan spell and has started every game under Pardew.

It is a welcome return to the Royals after three straight league defeats has seen Reading relinquish their relatively safe position in the league to be staring down the barrel at relegation.

Lita is almost certain to play some part in the Royals three remaining fixtures starting with a tricky tie at Wigan this Saturday.

Wigan are currently top of the Mini league of relegation threatened clubs and a win for them of Saturday would surely see them safe for another season.

Reading have failed to score in their last four and Lita returning to the Royals will give Coppell extra attacking options.

Fans responding to the news that Lita returned from the fans site Hob Nob Anyone?:

‘Lita returning gave me hope.
I know some moan about his attitude, but at the position we are at the moment, goals are all I care about.
If he has a bad attitude, deal with it for 3 more weeks and let him score.
Convey and Little on the wings, Lita and Kitson up front.
Should be a formidable attack against Wigan, we’d hope’.

“It was an obvious decision to make given that we`ve not scored lately.
It would have been an obvious decision not to send him out in the first place. Still, good to have another striking option back’.

Good news, looks like Lita & Kitson upfront then. Hopefully Bobby and Little on the wings.

‘Let’s hope that for the last 3 games he shows an attitude/level of application that doesn’t make this confidence look misplaced/laughable as it has ever since he came back from the euros U21 tournament’.

‘If Lita plays and scores the goals that keep us up, will it have been a good decision to send him out in the first place’
Royal Rother

I would like to hear from Charlton fans about how he was playing during his loan spell as well as Royals fans about his return to the club.

You beat me to it mate! I’m glad he’s back to be fair, hopefully they’ll give him a chance this time round. I work with a couple of Charlton fans and they seem to be fairly impressed with his performances and attitude.

Strange he let him out in the first place.
