Convey Grateful To Hoddle

Bobby Convey told the local press today that he may never have ended up winning promotion to the Premiership with Reading had it not been for Glenn Hoddle.

When Hoddle was in charge at Tottenham, he tried to sign Convey from DC United for one and a half million, but inability to be able to get a work permit scuppered the deal.

Now Convey says he has a lot to thank Hoddle for, but lets hope he does it after the game tomorrow.

Convey told the Evening Post: ?I have a lot to thank him for. He put my name up there by trying to bring me to Spurs.

?It fell through, but had he not tried to get me I doubt I would be playing for Reading now. I think he also put in a good word for me before I came here.

?I have so much respect for him, but when you cross the line any thanks or friendship will be forgotten because I’m a Reading player and want to do my best for them.?

He is quick to talk about winning promotion. Yeha ok you lot probably will, but mathematically, you’re not certain.

Have to say that even if they lost every game, two sides below them are not going to win every game. For me they are up already – and as Champions.
