Steve Clarke reflected on another league defeat for his side, which leaves them winless in seven games.

The Royals lost once again last night, this time at the hands of Birmingham, who won the game thanks to a late header from Clayton Donaldson. Our league form has been appalling of late, with one of the worst form’s in the Championship, but we are now officially safe.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Clarke said after the game: ‘We dominated completely, there was one team trying to win and another who came for a point. They’ve managed to steal all three, and it’s a familiar feeling. It’s something we have to learn quickly.’

‘We went to sleep on a set play and it’s cost us. The chances we created, possession, domination, it’s another lesson for the players. It’s difficult to look at positives when you lose, and I don’t like to lose. Overall it was a good performance from the team, but no points.’

Clarke is right, it has become a concerning trend of late – dominate the game, still can’t score or win. I think Clarke, along with the fans and players, just want the season to end now. A lot needs to be changed around this summer in terms of players, so roll on the summer!
