A number of Championship sides have recorded an interest in Reading striker Simon Church

A number of Championship sides have recorded an interest in Reading striker Simon Church, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year old has been pushed further down the pecking order at the Madejski Stadium with the signing of Pavel Pogrebnyak, further making it unlikely Church will be in the 18-man matchday squad. The Royals academy graduate made 30 appearances last campaign, scoring seven goals in the process.

The three Championship sides interested in the Welsh international are believed to be Ipswich Town, Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest, while Watford are also keeping a close eye on the situation. However, for the move to go through, it is likely that Brian McDermott would have to have a replacement lined up, with a loan addition expected.
