The missing man Daniel Carrico, who made a superb cameo appearance against Liverpool last week, has said he is fit and ready to play.

The 24-year old hasn’t settled into English football as well as he would have liked, having only made one appearance for the club before Saturday’s game, despite signing in January. Adkins said it was partly down to fitness and adapting to the pace of the English game, but after his sub appearance against the Reds, it appears he is ready.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Carrico said: ‘Obviously, the first time I played it was on the back of a long injury. Now, I’m feeling really fit and strong and I feel I can help my teammates. I’m happy to be back into action and to play. It was a tough game – Liverpool are a really good team with quality players.’

‘But we are here to get points and win games. We keep going – we got a point against a really tough opposition, so we still believe. Steven Gerrard is a great player but I tried my best to help my teammates get a point. We are happy, but unfortunately we couldn’t win.’

It was great to finally see our best central midfielders in Carrico and Guthrie play together last week, the former Sporting Lisbon captain put in a great shift. He looks like he loves a challenge and seems relatively composed on the ball, Carrico has to be a definite starter for Norwich this weekend.
