Reading captain Jobi McAnuff has said that the Royals are good enough to stay in the play-off places, following the 3-0 triumph over Brighton on Saturday which took them above Leeds and into sixth.

The Royals haven’t had the best memories have the Championship play-offs in recent years, having lost in the semi’s in 2009 and losing the final to Swansea this year.

The 30-year old told Jonny Fordham at the ReadingPost: “There is a lot of hard work to go, but it`s nice to put ourselves in position like that. Hopefully we can now get another result before the end of the year and kick on in the second half of the season.’

“In this league you can`t take anything for granted and we have to make sure we`re ready for that game. We would love to finish this year on a high and if we could do that it will have been a good run of games.’

Ipswich Town will be Saturday’s opponents and it will sure to be a good encounter with Paul Jewell’s men on a revival mission themselves, having been unbeaten in three, scoring 7 goals in the process.
