It seems that Wayne Bridge could be announced as a Reading player today, after various reports are saying he has signed for the Berkshire club.

The Daily Telegraph has claimed that the former England international has signed a one-year contract at the Madejski Stadium, turning down rivals QPR, leaving ‘Arry very unhappy! So unhappy, that reports are stating he could well resign from his position as Rangers boss.

The tabloid has said that Bridge completed his medical in Berkshire last night, with confirmation expected this afternoon. The 32-year old has spent the season on loan at Brighton, but was released by Manchester City last week, leaving him free to talk to other clubs.

Presuming this is true, which it seems it is, it shows we mean business and can compete financially, even in the Championship. Despite Brighton fans pinpointing his decision on money, I can’t see him being on silly wages, certainly no more than £40,000 a week.
