Bournemouth are hoping that they can extend the current loan deal that they have with Reading for Jem Karacan.

The Turkish teenagers loan will have officially finished by the time they play on Sunday, the match was originally scheduled for Saturday so he could have played anyway, but Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond hopes that an extension can be agreed by before their match with Hartlepool, “As it stands Jem’s loan period has expired and we’re working on extending that,” Bond told afcb.co.uk.

“We’re talking to Reading about the possibility of doing something before the weekend. They’ve sent him out to get some match practice and I would hope nothing has changed.

“There’s always the possibility other clubs might be interested. We had that with a few players who did well here last season, but I suppose I’d much prefer that situation than taking a loan player who doesn’t do very well.”

Karacan has impressed everyone at Bournemouth so I am sure that they will want to keep him for as long as they can, along with fellow Reading loan players Alex Pearce, James Henry and Scott Golbourne.

He is a talented youngster but he isn’t that likely to play for Reading this season, so letting him stay for at least one more month shouldn’t be an issue, and the chances are he will stay for the season?

He’s certainly impressed whilst at Bournemouth and has scored a few goals as well.

He looks as though he could have a bright future ahead of him, along with so many youngters at the club.

at least he is getting some good action and experience…..better than sitting around playing reserve matches…one for the future for you……….

  • Madejski Royal says:

Most certainly one for the future, first team football will benefit him more than the reserves will.
