Reading beat Birmingham 3-1 at St Andrews on Saturday, replacing their opponents in second place in the Championship table as a result.

Noel Hunt (13) gave Reading an early lead when he scored from a free-kick but on the hour, even though it wasn’t deserved Birmingham drew level when Kevin Phillips (60) scored from 25-yards. The visitors soon moved ahead again though when Kevin Doyle (66) headed home and the win was secured when Kalifa Cisse (82) headed home.
