Reading will hold a behind closed doors friendly to assist Dave Kitson and Bobby Convey in their quest to get back to first team football at the club.

Both players suffered long spells on the sidelines due to injuries and are lacking match fitness due to the amount of time they spent out.

Both Kitson and Convey featured in Reading`s FA Cup tie against Burnley, but Reading physio, Jon Fearn doesn`t believe that one game alone will be enough to see them return to the physically demanding environment of the Premiership week in and week out; and especially after such a long time out of practice:

‘They have had no reaction, they just both need football fitness and to get games. That’s why we’ve got this reserve game tomorrow.

‘It would be an easy thing to push them quickly but it’s just one step at a time.’

And the pair won`t be the only long-term injury`s making an appearance in the game.

Aaron Brown will also have the chance to play his first spell of football this year. The young defender has been missing since a pre-season friendly with Didcot Town after breaking his ankle.
