Reading striker Cedric Baseya has signed for League Two side Barnet on a loan deal until the 2nd of January, linking up with fellow Royals team mate Michael Hector.

Brian McDermott was keen to give the Frenchman some game time after putting in some fine goalscoring performances for the reserves in recent game and Lawrie Sanchez has decided to take him on.

Nicky Hammond, Director of Football told the official RFC site: ‘He has done very well for us in the games he’s played since he’s been here, and now that he has settled this is an opportunity for him to play in the League and for us to keep a close eye on him.’

The 23-year old signed a one-year deal at the Madejski in September on a free transfer but has yet to make a first team appearance for the Berkshire side.

Baseya has played already in England with fellow Championship side Southampton and French side’s Lille and Le Harve. He is yet to score a professional goal.
