I will be honest, I thought he was finished! So what fantastic news it was to read that our player of the season 2008/09 is set to make a comeback for the reserves in the next few weeks.

Armstrong has not been involved in the first team squad since December, and has only made 1 appearance in the past 12 months – a Carling Cup tie against Burton in August 2009.

The club are trying to arrange a friendly in the coming weeks to see if he can play 45 minutes, after training ‘really, really well’ since his return, according to manager Brian McDermott.

With Ingimarsson set to play in the same reserve game, both could return to the first team soon although Ingimarsson will be back before Armstrong.

A defence of Griffin, Mills, Ingimarsson and Armstrong does sound good! Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed for a quick return to fitness, considering Williams early season performances!
