Youngster Michael Antonio was in fine form when he came off the bench against Wolves on Tuesday night, and now he has declared himself to be the new Jimmy Kebe! The winger has played well in pre season and has gone from outsider to important squad player in less than a months pre season!

He is now ready to step up to the first team and wants to replicate Kebe’s fine displays last season. He told the Reading Post, ‘I`ve been here for two years, but I`ve hardly been involved in the first team. But now I`ve played four games and scored, so to be honest it`s a good thing. I`ve shown the gaffer that I can score goals.’

Antonio’s fine displays have convinced McDermott to let James Henry leave and its clear Antonio will be invovled in the first team this coming season.
