Reading winger Michail Antonio is edging closer to a move away from the Madejski Stadium, with Sheffield Wednesday his destination.
It has been widely reported that the newly-promoted Championship side have agreed a fee with Reading’s director of football Nicky Hammond, with Antonio just needing to complete personal terms and a medical. The fee is likely to remain undisclosed, but is expected to be just short of a seven-figure fee, after already rejecting a £700k bid last month.
The 22-year old was not involved in Saturday’s friendly at Bournemouth, attempting to finalise this move to Hillsborough. The former Tooting & Mitcham player failed to nail down a starting place under Brian McDermott, while he made a superb impact on loan with Dave Jones’ side in the tail end of last season, helping them to promotion to the Championship.

NOOOOOOOOOO! Joshy, get him to change his mind! I have someone at my work who said he boguht a new house in Reading and doesnt want to leave but he has been loaned a house for usage in Sheffield 🙁
Don’t you want him to leave lefondle? Thought you had plenty of cover on the wing.
I think its fair to say the move was probably the right decision for him. He was fifth choice winger as it stood, so I can’t really blame him. Very pacey and powerful winger, but definitely lacked that final ball in the last third.
WOAHHHHH. he is definately not 5th choice! at best 4th! jobi, Jim, Hal then was him but now gareth is in he is but Obita (my best mate) will be up there now!
