Reading`s Steve Coppell was named the Premier League`s manager of the month for the second time this season. Coppell picked up the award for November after he and his team embarked on an unbeaten run that was recently ended.

Coppell previously received the prize for September after the Royals enjoyed an unbeaten streak which lasted 4 games over all competitions.

Although Reading started the month with a 2-0 loss to Liverpool, the blue and white hoops went on to notch up three out of three wins for the rest of the month including an impressive win against Spurs turning a one goal deficit into a 3-1 victory.

They also beat Charlton 2-0 at home and saw Fulham off in a 1-0 away win.

Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards Panel, said: ‘Coppell’s second award in three months shows he and his club really are at the top of their game.’

The Reading boss added: “I`m pleased to win the award because it means the team are doing well, although I must admit I was surprised to win it because we lost our first game of the month.”
