Royals striker Adam Le Fondre has said they can make the Madejski Stadium a fortress after their recent results.

Nigel Adkins’ side have won the past three games at the Madejski Stadium, scoring seven goals and conceding just one. The most recent victory was this weekend’s comfortable victory against Doncaster and the former Rotherham striker feels we can make the Madejski a fortress this season.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Alfie said: ‘Hopefully this result will send out a message to the other teams in the Championship that the Madejski is going to become a fortress this season. We created a number of chances but we didn’t take full advantage of them.’

‘From where I was, Jordan’s was a goal, but we didn’t get that one, and if we had I think we would have been out of sight early doors. When they scored it was totally against the run of play, and even at 2-1 it was a bit edgy. But the third goal eased everyone.’

The home form has been brilliant so far and if you look at promotions over the years, very good home form is key to any promotion push. We have Millwall at home next week, which should be three points, but the next home game against QPR will be a tough one and a good indicator of our chances this season.
