Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has said he is confident he will score goals in the Premier League and has also spoke about Saturday’s opponents Stoke City.

The 25-year old has made a fascinating jump across the divisions, playing League Two football at this point last year and is now on the verge of participating in the Premier League. ‘Alfie’ scored some very important goals for the Royals in the final months of their successful Championship campaign and is set to line-up alongside Pavel Pogrebnyak against Stoke on Saturday.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC site, the former Rotherham forward said: “Stoke have been in the Premier League for a long time now and they are the benchmark for a lot of teams that get promoted. They have their own style of play and the do the job effectively. We have to break them down and impose our own style of play on them.’

‘With the pace and tempo that we play at I`m sure we can make it a difficult task for them – especially on the counter. I`ve always had the belief that I`d score goals, no matter what level. I feel that if I get a chance I`ll score, and I don`t think the Premier League should be any different.”
