The rumours that Nigel Adkins will raid his former club for players have already started, nearly a week into his reign!
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Adkins is ready to raid Southampton for his former striker Billy Sharp, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest. The 27-year old scored nine goals in 15 games last term for the Saints, as they were promoted alongside the Royals.
It was only a matter of time before these rumours started, but I can’t see the point in signing Sharp, considering we have Alfie. It is also worth noting that Adkins was the man who let Sharp go out on loan this season, obviously believing he wasn’t good enough for the Prem.
