Nigel Adkins was again pleased with his side, as they drew 1-1 with Yeovil in a friendly yesterday.

We fought a good match with the League One outfit, who equalised late on from a header from a free-kick. Pavel Pogrebnyak’s header gave us the lead four minutes into the second half, after a Ryan Edwards cross, who scored the winner at Exeter on Tuesday.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Adkins said: ‘Today, we’ve given an hour to some players, 30 minutes for some others and it has been another step in the progression we’re looking for. A positive is that Pavel scored a really good goal, from a Ryan Edwards cross.’

‘The negative is the goal we conceded is a poor one from my point of view. But, all in all, there was some really positive stuff, a lot we have to work a hell of a lot more on, but the spirit and camaraderie amongst this group of players has been first class.’

It’s interesting how he said the team still have a lot to work on, does he still have some doubts whether the squad can adapt to his passing philosophy? We have shown signs in these early games, but I still don’t think we have enough ability in midfield to penetrate teams.
