The season only ended two weeks ago, but the rumours are starting to come into full flow. Step forward, Tommy Spurr.
The 25-year old is yet to sign a new contract with recently promoted side Doncaster Rovers, meaning he will be allowed to speak to other clubs in the next few weeks. Sky Sports believes that the Royals are one of the sides interested, along with Blackburn, Derby, Ipswich and Birmingham.
Spurr is primarily a left-back, but has played at centre half at various points during his career. With Ian Harte and Nicky Shorey departing the Madejski Stadium, a left back has to be high on the priority list for Nigel Adkins. Although Spurr may be a cheap option, would he be of enough quality if we went up? I doubt it.
