This isn`t a match report as Tommy L will put that up – eventually 😉 but I thought I would just send out my applause to the players that held Man Utd in a thrilling cup tie on Saturday night.
Unfortunately I was priced out of going to the game but it was nice to watch the Royals on the BBC! Reading gave a great account of themselves and given all the hype surrounding Coppell`s decision to stick with his squad players the media would have had you believe that we were in for a right creaming.
I myself was sceptical of what we might be able to achieve and was filled with a mixture of pride and shame at my lack of faith as Brynjar Gunnarsson towered above all those red shirts and headed home an equaliser! GOOOOOOAAAL! After that a great footballing contest ensued with end to end attacking and defending which was reminiscent of when the Red Devils visted the Madejski Stadium in the league.
I will be there to watch the replay in person and hope that the Royals will be just as incredibly resilient and maybe bring us a result on home soil?
Hopefully the core of players will remain the same and Steve Coppell will be able to sit with a smug smile on his face as the media ask him about our chances of going all the way.
You can already see his response: “One game at a time?”
