A Dull Game, But An Important Point

In a pretty dull affair between the two teams, with the weather having a bit of an impact on both teams abilities to play football, Reading managed to pick up a point on their travels, away at Stoke City.

The Royals can feel fortunate to have come away undefeated from this game, as the hosts hit the woodwork twice in the opening fifteen minutes, with Tom Ince and Sam Vokes seeing their efforts denied by the frame of the goal.

Vokes looked Stoke’s biggest threat in front of goal, as after hitting the bar with a header, he headed another chance just wide before forcing Emiliano Martinez into a fantastic close range save.

Reading could have snatched it late on however as Mo Barrow was inches away from getting on the end of a cross by Lewis Baker, which surely would have seen the Royals steal all three points.

The boys have a couple of weeks off now while there is an international break, before returning to action against in form Preston at the Mad Stad.
